Reignite.

Just like everyone else, my life is crazy. Especially in the last two months, my career, boyfriend, friends and family have kept me very busy. As a result, I’ve neglected the things I love most, mainly: yoga, food and design. There has been plenty of travel (which I also love) since the year started, but certainly not the relaxing kind. But I haven’t been seeking out interesting places to eat, new foods to try or quirky items for my apartment. I guess you could say that I’ve experienced a hobby-slump as of late, and although I am thankful for my career, boyfriend, friends and family, I’m thinking that it’s about time that I show a little more love to myself and my neglected hobbies.

And so, I’m going to make a goal: moving forward, I’m going to try to blog 3 times a week about the things that I love. This will force me out of the office, off my phone and email, and out there to just DO SOMETHING for myself.

Join me? :)

Busy Year

I’m a terrible blogger, but to my defense, 2011 has been quite the busy year. I owe it to you (and myself) to recap my “eatie” adventures in Texas, Washington D.C., New York, London, Paris, Amsterdam, Pisa and Florence. Phew – that’s a lot of traveling in 4 months. Until then, I leave you with a phenomenal talk given by Sheryl Sandberg at TEDxWomen that I watched on my flight to New York last week.

Back Home

I’m back home from Washington D.C. So many incredible things have happened. Can’t wait to tell you about it! But first, who remembers this song? It’s an old favorite.

{More Reasons to Love Spring}: Kelsey Genna

I’m off to Washington DC for work this week, and after checking the forecast, I could not be more sad that I’m leaving sunny San Francisco weather for SNOW {nooooo!}. While tomorrow’s snow showers are light compared to Snowpocalypse in New York a few weeks ago {yes, I’m still not over how dry my skin was, and how I didn’t leave my hotel for 4[!] days}, I will say it over and over again: I hate cold weather, and cannot wait for Spring!

I’m tired of coats, wool tights, rain falling on my hair {especially right after I’ve spent time blowdrying and styling it}, boots and umbrellas. I want to wear open toed shoes and hold a glass of iced tea, as opposed to an umbrella that I am likely to lose anyway. Most of all, I want to wear cute clothes without freezing my tush off. And, after seeing New Zealand-based, 19-year-old Kelsey Genna‘s adorable line on Coco + Kelley, I’ve found more reasons to whine!

Her Begonia House collection is absolutely darling, and I need to find a way {and the right weather} to get my hands on every single piece.

Here’s to trying to make the best out of this weather, and sitting, waiting, wishing for a little more warmth and sunshine!

xo,

Christine

{Grand Opening}: Stuff!

I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve made plans to visit local flea markets {and there are *so* many wonderful ones in the San Francisco Bay Area}, but like clockwork, I don’t wake up early enough, or something else comes up. You know, like brunch with friends…or hangovers.

Ahhh…to be 25 and single.

And so, you guessed it. I never end up going. It’s just that I have so little willpower to wake up at 6 AM and to fight over pretty trinkets with my fellow antique scavengers. So, when I found out that Stuff, an 8,200-square-foot vintage collective, recently opened in the Mission, I dropped my alarm clock. While I’ve yet to visit the collective, Stuff seems to be stocked with gems. It’s filled with unique treasures, expertly picked by design aficionados who scour estate sales, flea markets and thrift stores for the perfect vintage or used item. I’m sure it will suit those of us who love things with history, but have no time to thrift-dive ourselves.

The best part? It opens at every day at 11 AM, which is late enough in the morning to allow me to sleep in, or to pop a few Excedrins to nurse last night’s, um, celebrating.

Oh, February.

When I saw this photo, I thought, “You and me both, sista.”

{Inspiration}: Malene Birger’s Workspace

I’m obsessed with chic workspaces. Check out Malene Birger’s! How could you not get inspired staring at her lovely wall?

{Can’t remember where I swiped this image. If you remember, please tell me!}

Pardon My Absence

Know I’ve been a bit quiet lately, but I’ll be back with a vengeance this week. I work in advertising, and it’s Super Bowl Sunday tomorrow. Connect the dots – I haven’t slept for weeks.

Personally and spiritually, I could use some guidance. I hope I can find that soon.

I am calling it an early night.

xo,

Christine
